Grady Thrasher, author of two Tim and Sally books plus a third on the way, and all-around nice guy has been selected by GRAND Magazine as one of the finalists in their best Grandparent of the year contest. Congrats to Grady. Now I have some explaining to do to my dad, also a wonderful grandfather and all-around nice guy.

Read the Breed tour 2009

Last night I went to a memorable pre-launch party for The Red and Black Breed, by Molly Read Woo. The... Breed is a murder mystery set in Atlanta and Athens. It's riveting, plus there are references to real places, people and headlines from the local media. Lots of great b/w photos and song lyrics too. Yesterday, Molly picked up the galleys and had some friends over to help celebrate. Today, she took off with her 14-year-old son, two German exchange students, and an ancient station wagon on a cross-country trip to promote The Red and Black Breed. Vaya con Dios!

Digital Publishing Making Headway

Interesting article about a digital publisher which will publish a title in both hardcopy and e-book formats. Altho it's in Spain, Random House is involved.
